When is Short Interest Data updated?
Short interest data is updated twice a month, soon after the exchanges publish the data. Brokerage firms typically report to FINRA/IIROC on the 15th and last day of the month. However, the exchanges (whom FINRANA/IIROC share their report with) do not provide this information until some days afterwards.
Canadian Short Interest = Is typically sent out 4 or 5 business days after the 15th or 30th/31st.
US Short Interest = Is typically sent out 8 business days after the 15th or 30th/31st.
QuoteMedia's database is updated with the most current short interest data reported shortly after it is sent out by the exchanges.
